Chlorine and pH Test Kit
Two key factors in maintaining the quality and safety of pool water are balanced chlorine levels and pH. Ideally, the chlorine level in pool water should be between 1-3 ppm. Chlorine within this range effectively disinfects the water, preventing the growth of bacteria and microbes. If the chlorine level is too low, it can lead to microbial and bacterial growth. Conversely, excessive chlorine levels can cause eye irritation and skin problems for swimmers.
A balanced pH enhances chlorine’s performance. The standard pH range for pool water is 7.2 to 7.6. If the pH drops below 7.2, the water becomes acidic; if it exceeds 7.6, the water turns alkaline. An unbalanced pH can cause corrosion or deposits on pool equipment like pipes and filters, as well as eye irritation and dry skin.
Regularly testing chlorine and pH levels is essential to keep them within the optimal range. A fast, easy, and cost-effective way to measure these levels is by using the Hippo Pack Chlorine and pH Test Kit.

Applications
Measurement of chlorine and pH levels in private and public pools.
Advantages
- Quick results
- High measurement accuracy
- Safe and free from harmful effects
- Colorimetric testing method for chlorine and pH
- Portable and easy to use
- Long-lasting
- Cost-effective
Usage Instructions
Chlorine Measurement
Fill the test kit to the marked line with pool water.
Add 5 drops of the yellow solution (chlorine test solution) to the kit.
Close the lid tightly and shake well.
If the water turns yellow, it indicates the chlorine level. Compare the resulting yellow color with the chlorine reference chart.
If the chlorine level is outside the optimal range (1-3 ppm), use Hippo Pack chlorine tablets or shock powder to adjust it.
pH Measurement
Fill the test kit to the marked line with pool water.
Add 5 drops of the red solution (pH test
solution) to the kit.
Close the lid tightly and shake well.
The solution will turn red. Compare the
resulting red color with the pH reference chart.
If the pH level is outside the optimal
range (7.2-7.6), use the Hippo Pack pH Adjuster Solution to bring it within the
desired range.
